The Scholarship and Financial Aid Donor Appreciation Reception 2023-24, organised by the Office of Student Affairs, was held on 30 May 2024 in appreciation of donors for their generosity and continued support, providing an opportunity for beneficiaries to personally thank the donors. The event was well attended by around 240 donors, staff and students.

In his welcoming address, Professor Alex Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the donors, whose contributions had enabled the University to offer 3,000 scholarships, and over 170 bursaries and emergency grants to students in the academic year 2023-24, amounting to HK$105 million.

Professor Wai also highlighted the remarkable impact of the First-Generation University Student Fund. Since its inception in 2017, the Fund has supported over 2,000 students, enabling them to realise their potential and engage in diverse learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting.
